"Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self." – Bhagavad Gita
The essence of yoga, as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali remind us, is “yoga Chitta Vritti Nirosha”—yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind. Beyond the poses and breath, yoga is ultimately a practice of presence, acceptance, and self-realization.
Carol began her yoga journey in 2009 and is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher in the Boston area. After her initial training in the United States, she traveled to Rishikesh in India to deepen her understanding of the philosophy and spiritual essence of yoga. Today, she teaches yoga in multiple health clubs and studios across Boston, as well as offering classes at her own studio.
For Carol, yoga is not just a physical practice, but a path inward. It teaches us to embrace our limitations, strengths, and weaknesses with compassion, both on and off the mat. Through yoga, we are reminded that the true purpose is not merely to work out, but to work within.
Her classes emphasize cultivating presence, letting go of fear, and opening to the now. Breathwork is often woven into her teaching, guiding students to move beyond the chatter of the mind—beyond the illusions of past and future—and return to the stillness of the present moment.
Carol is also a certified breathwork facilitator. Sometimes she combines breathwork with yoga or other healing modalities in her classes and one-on-one sessions to create profound transformation.
Breathwork directly influences the nervous system, helping us shift between the sympathetic state (fight or flight) and the parasympathetic state (rest, heal, and restore). By consciously working with the breath, we can calm the body, release stored tension, and access deeper layers of awareness.
On a physical level, breathwork improves oxygen flow, increases energy, and reduces stress. On a spiritual level, it opens a powerful doorway to connect with the higher self, quiet the analytical mind, and access expanded states of consciousness. Many find that breathwork helps them release old patterns, gain clarity, and experience a deep sense of peace and oneness.
At its core, breath is life. By working consciously with the breath, we return to our natural rhythm, reconnect with the truth of who we are, and awaken to the soul’s wisdom.
Students often describe Carol’s yoga and breathwork sessions as deeply grounding, healing, and uplifting. Many leave feeling lighter, more centered, and reconnected with themselves—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Whether in a group setting or a private session, her approach creates a safe and supportive space for transformation, clarity, and inner peace.
